How do I become a Zombie with Thrill The Villages?
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
All Zombies for Thrill The Villages must be 50 years of age or older, a full-time Resident of The Villages, and have a resident ID card.
Due to our rapidly increasing numbers with each new season, there will be a $15 non-refundable* membership fee for each Zombie wishing to participate in Thrill The Villages.
For the safety of our Zombies and to stay within the max capacity of the rec centers, we will be limiting the number of participants allowed. Registration will remain open until we have reached max capacity. (A safe Zombie is a happy Zombie!)
What does my $15 paid membership include??
- An official Thrill The Villages name tag!
- Guaranteed entry to your specific practice day.

page, "The Crypt."
(We will still have our public Facebook page; however, the private FB page
will allow us to share important information just between us Zombies.)

No dance experience is necessary, and you don’t have to be a performer or even a great dancer. Thriller is easy to learn and danced by Zombies that have their own style. We don’t all have to be exactly alike. Anyone can learn it if you are willing to practice.
New Zombie and Alumni zombies have their own specific days of practices. New zombies can attend practice on Sundays , in the afternoon, mostly to take place at Eisenhower Recreation Center, and/or Thursdays in the afternoon, mostly at Rohan Recreational Center. Alumni practice will take place on Mondays, at 6:30 pm, at rotating recreational centers. Once you have registered a schedule will be posted. Membership is mandatory. No walk-ins.
New Zombies are required to attend 9 weekly practices from August until mid-October. New zombies must also attend an outdoor rehearsal as we prepare for Thrill Night and the rehearsals held at the Square if you will be performing there. The best way to learn the dance is to attend practice each week. It is fun to practice together and experience the team synergy! You will also learn tips and tricks that will help you master the dance and establish your own zombie persona. Alumni practice requirements to be posted soon.
All Zombies, who know the dance, will be performing on Thrill Night (always the Saturday before Halloween), which will be October 24th, 2026. Thrill Night is a global event which spans 6 continents where participants perform Michael Jackson's "Thriller" dance at the same time worldwide.
There will also be other opportunities to perform at The Village Squares and other venues that can accommodate our large and growing group of Zombies.
That is half the fun. You can go all out or just dirty up something you find in the back of your closet. Most of our Thriller zombies visit the thrift stores for clothes to “zombie-up” that cost very little. Just be sure that you are able to move freely and safely, and always wear closed toe shoes (for performances as well as for practices).
