Bonnie crept into The Villages in 2017, having haunted the dance floors of Tampa and St. Petersburg with Thriller for years, returning to Pinellas each Halloween season to dance Thriller. When the eerie silence of the 2020 pandemic fell over the land, Bonnie refused to let the tradition die. With a chilling vision and a heart full of haunt, she summoned Thrill The Villages into existence—beginning with a mere 10 brave zombies, ready to rise and dance.
Though she didn’t begin her dance journey until her late 40s, Bonnie dove into the world of movement with both feet... some tap shoes and a zombied up old tee-shirt. Today, she not only serves as the Lead Zombie of Thrill The Villages but also keeps the rhythm alive as a member of two additional dance troupes - Evolution Dance Company and The Candy Girls Tap Dancers.
Her energy is supernatural—teaching fitness classes all over The Villages, where she’s something of a local legend. For over 36 years, she's been a spirited force in Aerobic Walking and Racewalking classes across the nation.
A true ambassador of The Villages, Bonnie casts a warm (and slightly eerie) spell over residents and visitors alike, drawing them into the community’s magical charm.
Long before her dance shoes clicked, Bonnie enchanted young minds as an elementary school teacher in South Florida—her birthplace and original stomping grounds.
Bonnie continues schooling us... only now it's in how to dance like the zombie.
Karen is a rare Florida native who crept into The Villages from the haunted swamps of Ft. Lauderdale in 2018. A true warrior, she served 33 chilling years in the U.S. Air Force, followed by a decade as a shadowy Special Agent with the federal government—perfect training for life among the zombies.
When she’s not roaming the country in her RV with her adventurous husband, Karen can be found summoning spirits at Zumba or perfecting her eerie flexibility in yoga. But it was in 2020, that she witnessed the original 10 Zombies perform—and in that moment, her undead heart knew it had found its tribe.
Without hesitation, Karen clawed her way into the next season, embraced the Thriller dance, and quickly became Bonnie’s right-hand zombie. She thrives on helping fresh zombies rise from the grave and master the moves, while delighting in how the seasoned ones evolve into full-fledged creepy characters of their own.
Vicky made the move to The Villages in 2020, leaving behind the Windy City of Chicago after a fulfilling career in the pharmaceutical industry. Retired and ready for a new adventure, she and her husband quickly fell in love with everything The Villages has to offer. She says The Villages is a beautiful place to live with wonderful weather year-round and there are just so many things to do.
Since settling in, Vicky has embraced the vibrant lifestyle by joining several social clubs and staying active in fitness and dance classes. But her true passion lies with Thrill The Villages.
She had always wanted to learn the dance to one of her favorite songs and relishes in the friendships she’s made by belonging to such a fun club. As she enters into her fourth year, she reflects on self-growth, the joy of helping others, and the simple fun of performing the dance.
For Vicky, it’s not just about the moves—it’s about the memories being made.
Robin is originally from Berks County, PA, where she was the founder of DVGRR.org, a nonprofit dedicated to helping rehome Golden Retrievers.
Originally working in accounting for her husband, Robin's passion was always dogs, and her efforts received several awards from the Golden Retriever Club of America, most notably, their Humanitarian Award. Robin also wrote for their publication and received numerous Maxwell Awards from the Dog Writer's Association of America.
After being snowbirds for many years, Robin and her husband made their permanent move to The Villages in 2021. Says Robin, "The Thriller friends I've made are priceless and that's just one of the many wonderful things about The Villages and Thrill The Villages.
Pickleball Patty roars to be a part of the organizational team! She self-scares to be “left-handed, left brained, and left footed”, who has stomped a long way since 2024 when she made it a personal challenge to learn the Thriller dance. Her alter-ego is Trixie (on the tennis and actually on the pickleball court too, there are SO MANY Patty's here in TV!). Her previous “stomping” ground is Connecticut where she was, and still is, a professional photographer and graphic designer. She was zombie-born and raised from the dead in Iowa and says she’s “corn fed and corn-bred”.
She has adult boy/girl twins that were born 10 weeks premature. To show her appreciation of the excellent care they got, she photographed 700 preemie babies with their families – truly one of her proudest achievements.
Besides scaring on the courts or stomping around the golf course, she enjoys mahjong, bridge, music at the squares and game nights with friends.
Carol is one of our newest Thrill The Villages organizational team members. She will be helping maintain our very creepy and spooky website, as well as helping with our information technology.
Carol was born and raised as a little Zombie in Northern Virginia and spent most of her adult life in Frederick, Maryland. She and her non-Zombie husband moved to The Villages permanently in 2022.
Carol is a proud small business owner and a professional American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter, specializing in medical interpreting. Her love for what she does has postponed her retirement for the foreseeable future!
Performing Thriller was always a bucket list item for Carol. Seeing the group perform at Edna's was the final nail in the coffin and she joined the club in 2024. When not practicing her Zombie march and stare, she enjoys Golf, Samba and Mahjong. She's mom to three adult children, four bonus children and grandchildren as well as three fur babies.
